Creating atmosphere through layered stages is fundamental to all Dreamtree scenes. Stages A-C show the 'back painting' of basic blues and greens, and light outlines of the boat's hull. Stages D-F show depth through aquatic shadow and light, whilst rust detail on the chain and boat amplifies the effect. The fish is brought to life in the same manner as an unwitting assistant.
